News and Pictures From 2046 Set

New information and pictures have been provided by Oriental Daily about Wong Kar Wai's highly anticipated sequel to In the Mood for Love, 2046, with a cast which is known to currently include Tony Leung, Carina Lau, Faye Wong, Chang Chen, Takuya Kimura, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Cheung, Miao Feilin and Siu Pinglam. Ziyi is currently in the former Portuguese posession of Macau, which is just off the coast of Guangdong, where she's been busy shooting scenes from 2046 with Tony Leung. One scene from the film (addressed as "10 Seconds of Flirting") with Ziyi and Tony, was done yesterday (03/06/03) on a cold and windy afternoon. Though it took over eight hours to shoot, Wong Kar-wai is said to be very impressed with the take. The first photo from yesterday's shoot ("10 Seconds of Flirting") is of Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi on the set. The second is of Tony presumably between takes: Ziyi will be in Macau for two days and then will fly back to on March 8th to prepare for the filming of Jasmines Blooming, which should start production within the next week. She's expected to start filming non-stop until April 6th, when she'll go to the Hong Kong Film Awards, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Like Moon in Zhang Yimou's Chinese epic Hero.
